Abstract

Osteonecrosis of the mandible and maxilla occurs as a complication of bisphosphonate treatment of bone metastasis and osteoporosis and typically manifests after a dental procedure. Magnetic resonance imaging and bone scintigraphy findings may precede clinical symptoms and mimic metastatic disease.
