Abstract After injecting glucose‐[1‐ 14 C] and glucose[6‐ 14 C] into two series of mice and killing 12 min later, fatty acids are isolated and their radioactivity measured. The results for the liver and the carcass differ significantly and permit the assay of the proportion of glucose molecules which have passed by the oxidative pathway, found to be 35–40%.
