Abstract

Abstract The microtubules of polyaniline (PANI) with room temperature conductivity of 3.5–2.6 S/cm were synthesized by a template‐free method. The structural characterizations by UV‐vis and FT‐IR spectra as well as X‐ray diffraction showed that the polymer chain of the resulting microtubules was identical to the PANI doped with HCl, but its crystallinity was higher than that of PANI‐HCl. Moreover, the resulting microtubules exhibited an unusual magnetic loss at the microwave frequency ( f = 1–18 GHz) arose from order arrangement of polaron as charge carrier caused by a tubular morphology.
