Abstract

An occult renal carcinoma produced. Budd-Chiari syndrome secondary to an intraluminal mass in the inferior vena cava. Nonoperative histological confirmation of the renal origin of the lesion was obtained by percutaneous transcaval biopsy with a gastroscopic biopsy forceps.
