An electrical resistivity anomaly and a peculiar behaviour of the energy dependence of the absorption coefficient near the absorption edge have been found in solid solutions of the (Agx/2Ge1-xSbx/2)Te type. These findings are explained in terms of existing theories of the ferroelectric phase transition in IV-VI compounds.
