Au 17 siecle, la connaissance scientifique etait reservee aux adultes. Apparition en Grande-Bretagne au milieu du 18 siecle d'un enseignement du Newtonianisme aux enfants, avec l'edition d'un livre: The Newtonian system of philosophy adapted to the capacities of young gentlemen and ladies en 1761.
