A novel LiFePO4 cathode material (LFP@C/CNT) is demonstrated, whereby the LiFePO4 nanoparticles are decorated with both an amorphous carbon coating and conducting carbon nanotubes. This material exhibits much improved electrochemical properties in terms of specific capacity, rate capability, cycling, and low-temperature performances benefiting from the enhanced electronic and ionic conductivities, stabilized interface and lower charge polarization compared to pristine LFP and other carbon-decorated LFP materials.
