Abstract

The results on the 2S Lamb shift (2s2S1/2−2p2 P1/2-level spacing) in hydrogen-like ions (Z = 15, 16) obtained by use of the laser resonance method are stated and discussed with respect to their significance for predictions obtained by theory. The properties of a new experimental technique - the autocollimation spectroscopy of broad resonances - are depicted. Finally we report the current status of preparation for a measurement of the 2S Lamb shift in 28Si13+ and give an outlook to the future perspective of laser resonance experiments.
