The highly ordered nanostructured thin film consisting of the liquid crystalline porphyrin−fullerene blend was prepared by simple thermal annealing. The nature of their homeotropic alignment is well-confirmed. The concept demonstration provides new insight on fabricating defect-free large area blend thin films with directed molecular arrangement.
