Abstract

Novel markers: NMR spectroscopy has a unique potential to monitor chemical reactions in vivo (see figure). Unlike other imaging techniques, non-invasive NMR experiments yield information on the chemical nature of educts and products through their chemical shifts. The hyperpolarization of amino acids for in vivo assays of transaminase activity is shown. Detailed facts of importance to specialist readers are published as ”Supporting Information”.
