The microwave spectrum of carbonyl fluoride, COF2 has been investigated in the region 8–30 kMc. The following effective rotational constants have been obtained (Mc): C12O16F219C13O16F219C12O18F219a11813.4511814.6611813.48b11752.9911747.2710878.54c5880.915879.815653.32The structure calculated from these constants is rCF = 1.312 Å, rCO = 1.174 Å, ≰FCF = 108.0°. From measurements of the Stark effect the dipole moment is found to be 0.951±0.010 D.
