Abstract The differences in UV spectra and acidity between 4‐nitropyrazole and 3(5)‐methyl‐4‐nitropyrazole and 3,5‐dimethyl‐4‐nitropyrazole indicate the absence of steric influence of ortho ‐methyl groups.
