Abstract

ABSTRACT The leaf oil of Eucalyptus camaldulensis was produced from both freshly harvested leaves and those air-dried for one week in yields of 1.04% and 1.70% respectively. Seventeen compounds were identified by GC/MS analysis, the major compounds being 1, 8-cineole (45.00–49.9%) and p-cymene (33.8–34.9%). Air drying was found to result in an increase in oil yield without any modification of composition. KEY WORD INDEX: Eucalyptus camaldulensis Myrtaceaeessential oilmonoterpenesoil yield parameter
