Studies in the Extraction of Metals with 3-Phenyl-4-acetyl-5-isoxazolone

Abstract

Abstract Extraction of manganese(II), iron(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II), zinc(II), and cadmium(II) from aqueous solution with 3-phenyl-4-acetyl-5-isoxazolone (HPAI) in 4-methyl-2-pentanone (MIBK) has been studied and the extraction constants have been calculated for all the systems except cadmium(II). Separation factors have been calculated for the separation of metals.
