Abstract

Inhaled NO attenuates LPS-induced acute lung injury, possibly by decreasing NO production in the lungs. The mechanism of reducing NO production resulting from inhaled NO may involve, in part, the activities of reactive oxygen species and/or nuclear factor-kappaB.
