Gamma, but not alpha, tocopherol levels in serum are reduced in coronary heart disease patients

Abstract

The lower gamma tocopherol concentration and the high ratio between alpha and gamma tocopherol in the CHD group indicate a difference in antioxidative status between CHD patients and healthy subjects. The lipid-lowering treatment of these CHD patients is far from optimal.
