On the optical constants of alloys of the copper-zinc system

Abstract

Values of the optical constants (refractive index, reflection coefficient and absorption coefficient) are given for some alloys of the copper-zinc system (α, β and γ brass) over the range λ 4358 to λ 6800, as determined by the method of Drude. Curves showing the variation in the optical constants with composition for particular wave-lengths of light are also shown.
