N 2 −, O 2 −, and air‐broadened half widths of several spectral lines in the fundamental band of 12 CH 4 at 7.66 μm have been measured at low temperatures between 130 and 295 K, using a tunable diode laser spectrometer. The temperature dependence of the measured line widths is described in terms of an exponent n .
