During hypotension resulting from conduction anesthesia in gravid ewes, uterine blood flow (UBF) decreased roughly in proportion to the decrease in maternal blood pressure. Ephedrine or mephentermine significantly increased UBF over that accomplished by metaraminol. Presumably, the preferential effe
