Abstract An improved iodometric procedure for the determination of hydroperoxides is described. Theoretical values are obtained for seven structurally different compounds. The estimation of 1‐tetralyl hydroperoxide is affected by the presence of α‐tetralone if the determination is carried out at too high a temperature.
