The root oil of Fokienia hodginsii from Vietnam was submitted, after fractionation over silica gel, to a combined analysis by GC–RI, GC–MS and 13C-NMR. Forty hydrocarbons and 19 oxygenated compounds, mostly sesquiterpenes, were identified. (E)-Nerolidol and fokienol were the major components. Copyright © 2005 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
