Observation of implanted potassium aggregates in MgO single crystals

Abstract

MgO single crystals implanted with potassium ions and subsequently annealed exhibit optical coloration due to small potassium aggregates. Darkfield transmission electron microscopy confirms the presence of such precipitates with a range of sizes between 20 and 2500 Å. MgO-Einkristalle, die mit Kaliumionen implantiert und nachfolgend getempert wurden, zeigen optische Verfärbung durch kleine Kaliumaggregate. Dunkelfeldtransmissionselektronenmikro-skopie bestätigt die Anwesenheit derartiger Präzipitate mit einem Größenbereich zwischen 20 und 2500 Å.
