Abstract

The paper describes two bonds dispersion-strengthened with WC and ZrO2 nanoparticles, which are used in the manufacture of diamond tools for cutting reinforced concrete. The pattern of nano-particles distribution in the metal matrix is studied. Physical-mechanical and tribological properties of the bonds have been determined. The use of dispersion-strengthened bonds is demonstrated to ensure a 60% longer tool life without reducing the cutting speed.
