Methods for ion detection with high spatial and spectral resolution in the energy range 70 keV≤Ed≤5 MeV were developed and applied at plasma focus facilities. Particularly, the fusion reaction protons of the D(d,p) T reaction were studied. Nuclear track detectors LR115A, CR-39, and CR-39/PM355 with aluminum foil filters in front were used and calibrated using a Thomson analyzer. The influence of the azimuthal magnetic field on the trajectories of the charged particles was calculated using an ion optical code.
