On a Multivariate Extension of the Gamma and Beta Distributions

Abstract

The concept of Liouville distribution of the first and second kind provides respective generalizations to the multivariate gamma distribution and the Dirichlet distribution. It is shown that these new classes of multivariate distributions defined by functional forms can be used to generate some well-known statistical distributions.
