Liouville Function
The Liouville Function is an arithmetic function defined for positive integers that assigns the value of −1 raised to the number of prime factors of the integer, counted with multiplicity, distinguishing it from other number-theoretic functions by its complete additivity and role in sieve theories and the study of prime distribution.
