The room-temperature reflectivity spectra of Cd1-xMnxTe in the 0.5-30 eV energy range have been analysed. The data display structures which can be attributed in the 0.5-11 eV range to the E0, E1, E1+ Delta 1, E2, E'1 and E'1+ Delta transitions at several critical points in zincblende-type semiconductors and in the 10-30 eV energy range to Cd 4d core transitions. The energy positions shifts of above-indicated inter-band transitions and the analysis of Cd 4d core transitions allow for a quantitative estimate of the influence of the occupied and empty Mn 3d states on the optical spectra of the Cd-Mn-Te system.
