It is shown by use of Milne's nonlinear transform of a one-dimensional Schr\"odinger eigenproblem that the wave function bears the classical statistical information of the density of time spent by the system at any point of the configuration space, as already suggested by White [Phys. Rev. 37, 1416 (1931)].
