Oxidant/antioxidant status in obese children compared to pediatric patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus

Abstract

Oxidative stress is present in both children with T1D and obesity, although it is more pronounced in the former. Obese children may suffer an additional oxidative stress in the case of developing impaired glucose metabolism.
