Effect of adriamycin on lipid peroxide, glutathione peroxidase and respiratory responses of mitochondria from the heart, liver and kidney.

Administration of adriamycin induced an elevation of lipid peroxide content, a decrease of glutathione peroxidase activity and a disturbance of the respiratory responses in heart mitochondria. Cardiac mitochondria were much more sensitive to adriamycin, than mitochondria of the liver and kidney.
