The publication of the eighth edition of<i>Ackerman's Surgical Pathology</i>, the third under the aegis of Juan Rosai, is a welcome event for surgical pathologists. Since the last edition in 1989, the field of surgical pathology has continued to expand at an exponential rate. To reflect these advances, the new edition has been completely revised and updated. Dr Rosai again has succeeded in condensing the new information into a concise but comprehensive and readable text, maintaining the standard of excellence and uniformly high quality he achieved in the two prior editions.
