Rigorous calculation of the same type as a preceding paper of this series is carried out for absorption spectra, and the following conclusions are drawn. (i) Absorption spectra also follow the generalized power law like emission spectra did: \(\tilde{w}(\omega){=}\gamma(\omega)|\omega_{\text{F}}-\omega|^{\alpha(\omega)}\quad\text{for}\quad\omega>\omega_{\text{F}}\), where ω denotes the frequency of absorbed photon, ω F being the value at threshold. (ii) Both α(ω) and γ(ω) are regular at ω=ω F , and they are exactly the analytical continuations of those for the corresponding emission spectra into the frequency range ω>ω F , respectively. Both (i) and (ii) are expected to remain valid as they stand or with slight extentions even for models and situations much more general and much more realistic than examined actually in papers of this series, and they will form the basis for analysing experiments.
