The hyperfine spectra for the J=1 and 2 states of hydrogen fluoride have been observed by molecular beam electric resonance spectroscopy. The observed Stark coefficients are corrected for centrifugal distortion and yield a value for the polarizability anisotropy, α=0.220 ± 0.020 Å3. Differences in the values for the spin-rotation interactions are observed for the two rotational states and these are used to calculate dCF/dR=(1.66± 0.10)× 103 kHz/Å and dCH/dR=(2.5± 1.4)× 102 kHz/Å.
