Abstract The effect of hydrostatic pressure P up to 1.05 × 10 4 atm on the electron effective mass m * in samples of InSb with electron densites of n = 2 × 10 14 to 8.3 × 10 16 cm −3 at T ≈ 100°K is studied. The effective mass is determined from both the magnetophonon (MP) oscillations of the longitudinal and transverse magnetoresistance and the Hall effect and thermo‐electric power in strong magnetic fields. The obtained dependence of m * ( P ) agrees with Kane's theory.
