Neuropsychological assessment, neuroimaging, and clinical neuropsychology: A synthesis

Abstract

The history of lesion analysis in neuropsychology is reviewed. Contemporary methods of brain imaging and electrophysiological analysis also are reviewed with an emphasis on problems associated with lesion identification and quantification. New methods for lesion analysis are discussed including three-dimensional imaging. The challenge is given to neuropsychology to place a greater emphasis on quantitative measures of lesions analysis in clinical research.
