Infrared Spectra of Alkyldiboranes. V. Tri- and Tetramethyl- and Ethyldiboranes

Abstract

Frequency assignments are reported for the infrared spectra of tri- and tetramethyl- and ethyldiboranes, together with some of their boron-deuterated and B10 isotopic derivatives. Additionally, a Raman spectrum of tetramethyldiborane from sources in the literature is analyzed. In assigning some of the B–C stretching frequencies, use is made of the recently formulated Average Rule.
