Polarisation study of Raman scattering of liquid³He

Abstract

Raman spectra of liquid 3He have been measured with vertically and horizontally polarised incident beams, with the direction of the easy axis of the analysing polariser vertical, under a pressure of 2.05 kg cm-2 at 1.21 K. The depolarisation property of the Raman spectrum of liquid 3He has been found to be similar to that of normal liquid 4He.
