A Carbonyliron Complex of an Amino‐9‐fluorenylideneborane with Coordination at a Borabutadiene Unit

Abstract

In the photochemically generated tricarbonyl-iron complex 1 of 9-fluorenylidene(tetramethylpiperidino)borane, the metal complex fragment is bonded in an η4 fashion to a cis-borabutadiene- unit, thereby strongly perturbing the aromaticity of one benzene ring. Consequently, the η4 complex reacts readily with two-electron donors to form η2 complexes.
