The absorption spectrum of Na vapor in the region 150-600 A has been photographed for the first time. At least thirty-eight discrete features have been measured, all of wh&h can be attributed to excitation from the 2p6 and 2s2 shells. Hartree-Fock calculations confirm some of the assignments, and the positions of the two transitions 2p6 3s 2f112 and 2 312 have been compared with the structure of the L11 and Liii edges in the soft X-ray absorption spectrum of solid sodium.
