Incidence of and risk factors for diabetic retinopathy in Isfahan, Iran

Abstract

These data suggest that diabetic retinopathy in this population of Iranian non-insulin-dependent diabetic patients is common, being found in almost half of the patients after a mean 5-year follow-up. Poor metabolic control is the major risk factor.
