Abstract

Abstract A rheumatoid arthritis prevalence survey was conducted in eight Alaskan Eskimo villages during the summer of 1970. Eleven cases of definite rheumatoid arthritis were found among 1443 Eskimos over 14 years of age. The frequency of 1.0% among adult females and 0.5% among adult males is almost identical with the National Health Examination Survey prevalence estimate for the general United States.
