Blends of polyamide-6 PA6 as matrix and a hyperbranched poly(ether amide) P1, based on 2-(3,5-dihydroxyphenyl)-1,3-oxazoline, were prepared. The content of the hyperbranched polymer was varied between 0.1 and 10 wt.-%. The blends were prepared in order to investigate the influence of the hyperbranched material on the rheological behavior of the new material. The mixed systems exhibit a homogeneous morphology even at high concentrations of the poly(ether amide). The complex viscosity of the new materials was reduced already at a small amount of the hyperbranched polymer whereas the mechanical properties of the blends remained nearly constant compared to the pure PA6.
