Abstract

Abstract In the application of the rheumatoid latex fixation test, agglutination may fail to occur in the presence of high concentrations of positive sera in a pattern resembling the prozone of some antigen‐antibody reactions. The serum factors responsible for the prozone phenomenon in the rheumatoid latex fixation test have the properties of the second and fourth components of human complement.
