Absolute differential cross sections for capture to the continuum are obtained experimentally. An expansion of the cross section in the rest frame of the projectile in terms of Legendre polynomials is used to represent the data. The velocity dependence of the dominating first-order term is found to be V-11.3+or-0.2, the charge dependence is q2.9+or-0.1. The asymmetry inherent in the second Born approximation is investigated in a velocity regime where the Born approximation is applicable.
