Born Approximation

Born Approximation is a mathematical method in scattering theory that approximates the scattered field by assuming the incident field induces a weak and spatially localized perturbation in the medium, thereby linearizing the relationship between the scatterer's properties and the observed data under the assumption that multiple scattering effects are negligible.
