Nanoporous molybdenum carbide nanowires have been successfully synthesized based on MoOx/amine hybrid nanowires with subnanometer periodic structures. The subnanometer contact between MoOx and amine facilitates the achievement of Mo2C nanowires, whose high performance has been validated in methanol decomposition. This opens up opportunities for developing carbides and relevant functional materials in future.
