Hydrogen-charged YBa2Cu3O7 samples were investigated by muon spin rotation (μSR) and Hall-effect measurements. Both experiments show consistently that the charge carrier concentrations–the superconducting carriers in case of the μSR experiment and the normal state carriers in case of the Hall measurement–are strongly reduced by hydrogen doping. Extrapolating the initial rate of reduction, we deduce that approximately 0.8 H atoms per unit cell are needed to eliminate all carriers.
