Dragon's Blood from Dracaena draco, Structure of Novel Honoisoflavanoids

Abstract

Two novel hornisoflavans , 4',7-dihydraxy-(4) and 4',7-dihydroxy--8-merhoxy-(5).were isolated from the resin or rag on's blood", which is produced by Dracaena draco (Liliaeeae) .In the same resin were also identified 4',7-dihydroxy-and 4',5,7-trihydroxy-67aethylhomoisofla~anone (1) and ( 3) , together with (2S)-4'.7-dihydraxy-3'-meth~xy-8-methylf1a~an(8) , (2s)-4',5dihydroxy-7-merhoxy-8arethylflaaan (9) and 3,4'-dihydroxy-7-methoxyElaaone (10) .Their structures were established on the basis of spectroscopic analysis and by synthesis .
