In this paper, we present the two building blocks for a two-layer signal crossing in Nanomagnetic logic. To cross magnetic signals, one of the signals is detoured through a second functional layer. The two functional layers are separated by a thin dielectric. The first building block (magnetic via) demonstrates how a magnetic signal is transferred between two functional layers. The second building block (crossing) proves that signal propagation is unimpeded in the two magnetic wires one lying above the other, despite the strong stray field interaction in the crossing area. The functionality of each building block is proven experimentally. Furthermore, the measured results are confirmed by numerical simulations.
