The angular distribution of Auger electrons emitted in the decay of molecular $K$-shell vacancies created by photoabsorption is predicted to be a direct probe of the anisotropy of molecular photoabsorption. The $\ensuremath{\sigma}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\pi}$ discrete absorption and the $\ensuremath{\sigma}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\sigma}$$f$-wave shape resonance in ${\mathrm{N}}_{2}$ and CO are given as examples.
